  • Sunday worship-bulletin-covers are being created for each month throughout the bicentennial emphasis duplicating a number of previously used ecclesiastical banners;
  • Sermons by the Pastor throughout the 12 month period will occasionally focus on themes of Baptist history in general, and Soul Liberty in particular;
  • Informational tours of the church facilities will be offered once a month; and,
  • Creative efforts during First Friday Art Walks in Portland will emphasize the colorful history of Immanuel Baptist Church, including a “Bicentennial Boutique,” concerts and visual art exhibits.
  • All this is planned to celebrate the beginning of Immanuel’s 2001st year of a ministry, which stems from discipleship in Jesus Christ and is framed by Soul Liberty.

    Planned and coordinated by the  2010 Steering Committee in December 2009 from ideas presented by various committees, boards, and related organizations of Immanuel Baptist Church and authorized by the Church Council in 2008.
